There is no better way to give back to your community and have fun doing it than by becoming a Holland Haven Marathon volunteer. It is only through the efforts of hundreds of volunteers that the Holland Haven Marathon happens. Enjoy the satisfaction of helping to promote healthy living and to aid in raising funds for local charities. Every volunteer receives a FREE Holland Haven t-shirt plus a whole lot more.
It takes over 150 volunteers to orchestrate and support the Holland Haven Marathon events. There are volunteer positions for every type of person. Whether you want to be at the center of the competition or behind the scenes. It’s also a great way for families, clubs, and civic groups to participate in a great community event. For students looking to earn community service hours, volunteering earns both hours and a free shirt. Contact our Volunteer Coordinator for more information.

Aid Station Worker
Hand runners beverages and food

Course Marshal
Make sure all runners, spectators, and volunteers are safe

Cyclists - Lead and Sweeper
Lead - Cycle the course leading the front runner for full or half, mens or women's leader
Sweeper - Cyclist to be the last one through the course staying with the final runner
Gear Check
Take running gear and give runners a tag to retrieve gear
Pass out gear to runners as they come to retrieve it
Setup and Clean Up
Set up start lines, finish line, after party, expo or parking
Clean up race course, start lines, finish line, after party, expo or parking
Food and Beverage Service
Serve food and/or beverages at after party
Assist with supplying and restocking after party food
Assist with restocking beer at beer tent
Assist with restocking ice in coolers
Packet Pickup
Help set up/tear down packet pick up
Work at packet pick up table
Pass out bibs and pins and race t-shirts
Answer runner questions
